5th Place, Getting Ready Category in US BRIDES Magazine
In 2008, Edmund Tham Photography has made another achievement whereby one of my photo was featured in a US-based wedding magazine known as the BRIDES Magazine. I was busy with my work until i totally forgotten it/forgot to upload it to my blog. “My clients, Jason and Lillian (whom I shot their wedding in Khao Lak), who were working in US saw my winning photo featured in Brides Magazine and were thinking to bring me a copy of it. However, they didn’t due to overweight of luggages.
I’m glad that my photo was featured in Brides Magazine and hopefully, this will give me an opportunity to spread my biz into the States and Europe.
JUDGES COMMENTS: The graphic double frame works in this behind-the-scenes shot. It lets you see the bride and groom at the same time but they can’t see each other. Dramatic irony!

5 commentsKian Ming & Samantha Bali
Last week was a very busy week for me, i shot 4 weddings in a week (include the wedding in Khao Lak). Today is my off day, finally got some time to update my blog.
I met Kian Ming & Samantha at Equatorial Wedding Fair, Penang on 13 April 08 (if i not mistaken). They came visit my booth and we sat for a short discussion. Both of them really interested to go Bali for a short holiday & taking photos (with the reasonable price that i gave them) hahaha… So far Kian Ming & Samantha is the only deal from the Equatorial Fair.
Samantha known Kian Ming on age 17 when both of them organising committee for school scout and guides camp. But they only start their relationship at age early 20’s. Kian Ming & Samantha spent 8 sweet years together and finally got married on yesterday 23th Nov 08. Both of them are very friendly persons, we spent our great them together at Bali. Is my pleasure to work with them.
Here are some of the highlights from Bali pre wedding…
These are the gifts (Patrick) they bought for each other on their first day dating.
1 commentAway To Khao Lak for Jason & Lillian Wedding
I will be on my trip to Khao Lak, Thailand from 17th Nov till 19th Nov 2008. Will be shooting Jason & Lillian beach wedding ceremony at Le Meridien Beach and Spa Resort, Khao Lak. I’m sure most of you haven heard about Khao Lak, actually Khao Lak is on the North of Phuket. It’s takes about 70KM drive from Phuket International Airport.
Map to Khao Lak from Phuket International Airport.
Map of Le Meridien Beach & Sap Resort, Khao Lak.
The reason why the wedding couple chose Thailand is because of When Jason first met Lillian, he impressed her with his Thai cooking skills. Furthermore, they found out they are big fans of Thai massages. The theme of the wedding is based on their love of the beautiful nature and the spectacular beaches. This is my first time to Khao Lak, im very excited & i can’t wait for the shoot. Although this time I will be going on a job assignment, I hope that I can still enjoy the beautiful nature and the spectacular beaches by laying down on the beach with coconut and few thai girls. hahaha….

Have your ever think about how you going to handle your wedding dresses after your wedding? You’ve made a commitment to your husband. He’s your one and only true love, right? Then you’ll never need the dress again. And no, your daughter won’t wear it in 20-30 years. So you have two choices:
1) Suffocate it in plastic and throw it in a closet
2) Show your husband how committed you are by trashing the dress, and get some great fun pictures while you do it!
You can do something like this…
Wearing your gown and having fun at Car Mechanic shop
Wearing your gown with the fire background
The TTD trend began in America, when a photographer named Mark Eric www.markeric.net shot his first Trash the Dress session in New York and soon after registered the domain name www.trashthedress.com Thus began the very successful website. The site currently boasts a massive following ranging from brides, vendors and photographers and it has been featured in the media worldwide, and especially throughout America, for example in the New York Times, on Good Morning America and Entertainment Tonight, as well as a host of worldwide bridal and digital photo magazines.
On the positive side, many brides and photographers have accepted the concept and are eager to create something unusual and artistic either simply for a personal memory or as something to go on their wall as a piece of artwork. On the other hand, there are some that feel it’s a travesty to ruin an expensive dress or that it’s simply a temporary craze that will pass. Whether or not TTD is just a trend remains to be seen – but really, does it matter? At this moment, and as with anything, that’s all that truly matters; it’s an enjoyable opportunity for clients to get back in front of the camera and experience something that they probably would never have had a chance to had this ‘trend’ not come along.
Please come back later for the full series of Trash The Dress Photography by Edmund…

No commentsJee Seong & Yen Li Wedding
Jee Seong & Yen Li they were pharmacy course mates at the International Medical University (IMU) and University of Strathclyde; they hardly talked to each other throughout our 3 years at university. Soon after graduation from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, they both applied for their internship at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) as pupil pharmacists for 1 year before they were able to register ourselves as pharmacists in Malaysia. Is funny how cupid can strike his arrow and turn friendship into relationship. It was 3 years of courtship before they both decided to tie the knot and Jee Seong’s proposed to Yen Li’s on her 27th Birthday with a big bouquet of flowers and a diamond ring that fit perfectly without alteration!
This is a fun & beautiful Wedding. Jee Seong & Yen Li both are very nice persons to work with, they treat us like part of their buddies. We are enjoying and having fun together. Here are some of the highlights of the event…
